I had my blood first clot at 26. I visited a doctor, but they couldn’t diagnose it, saying it would fade with time. After two months, it did fade.
At 28, when I was newly married and planning a baby, I got red bumps on my calves. I tried lymphatic exercises for two months, but it worsened. My feet swelled, and pain became unbearable. I visited multiple doctors, but none could diagnose the issue despite basic blood tests.
Finally, I visited a cardiologist who suggested an ultrasound, and I was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis (DVT). I was devastated, and my dreams of having a baby seemed shattered.
The doctor prescribed apixaban 5mg for four months, followed by 2.5mg for another four months. After that, ultrasound reports were normal, and I stopped medication.
However, 25 days later, despite taking medication, I had developed more clots. My doctor couldn’t explain why this was happening.
I’m worried about having a baby due to my clotting issue and the potential risks of medication. My husband has been supportive throughout this journey.
We’ve spent a significant amount on treatment, and I’m hoping for a better outcome.
