Why Facebook Fundraisers?

Facebook has developed an easy-to-use online platform for establishing fundraisers that aid organizations such as the National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA). For individuals aiming to give back to NBCA, this is a great option given its ease of use, social sharing capabilities, and ability to connect with your own personal networks. Facebook’s fundraising features make it a powerful tool for individuals seeking to raise funds and awareness to help Stop the Clot.

“Creating a Facebook fundraiser for Stop the Clot was an easy way to help share my story and raise awareness and critical funds for an organization that helps blood clot community members like me. No one must face the threat of blood clots alone, and setting up a Facebook Fundraiser was my way of helping to save lives.” -NBCA donor and patient

To help support NBCA, you have the option to create a Facebook fundraiser for various occasions. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  1. Birthday celebration
  2. Clotting anniversary (“clotiversary”)
  3. Memorial or tribute
  4. In lieu of gifts for special occasions (holiday, graduation, or wedding)
  5. Awareness month (such as Blood Clot Awareness Month in March)
  6. Community events
  7. Personal challenges and achievements

How Do Fundraising Dollars Help Support NBCA?

Every donation, no matter the size, plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA) and makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by blood clots and clotting disorders. These funds help facilitate educational campaigns that raise awareness about the risks, signs, symptoms, and prevention of blood clots, ultimately saving lives through enhanced knowledge. They also support critical research efforts aimed at improving outcomes for blood clot patients and those at increased risk of developing a blood clot. Additionally, these funds support patient assistance programs, offering vital resources and support networks to individuals navigating the challenges post-diagnosis. Every donor becomes an integral part of NBCA’s mission, contributing to the prevention, early diagnosis, and successful treatment of life-threatening blood clots for countless individuals across the nation.
