Volunteer Spotlight: Mimi MacKinnon

Volunteer Spotlight: Mimi MacKinnon

Mimi MacKinnon is Senior Manager, Events, at the National Football League, and a member of the Board of Directors of the National Blood Clot Alliance. We honor her this month for her commitment to NBCA and her generous hosting of the three-day NBCA Board and Staff meeting held recently at her office in New York City.

On May 10, 2013, Mimi suffered a near fatal pulmonary embolism at the age of 31 related to birth control. During her journey, she has searched for ways to become meaningfully involved in the cause to help raise awareness, especially about the potentially dangerous side effects attributed to hormonal birth control.

For the past two years, Mimi has been actively involved with the NYC Walk to Stop The Clot, to help funds and awareness in support of NBCA.

From all of us at NBCA, we extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Mimi for all she’s done and continues to do every single day. It gives us great pride to honor Mimi MacKinnon as the October 2018 Volunteer of the Month.
