Maintaining Trust: NBCA Earns Candid’s Platinum Seal of Transparency for 2026

Trust and transparency are essential to the work of nonprofit organizations, especially those dedicated to saving lives and supporting patients and families.

The National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA) is proud to announce that it has once again earned Candid’s Platinum Seal of Transparency, this time for 2026.

This marks NBCA’s second consecutive year receiving Candid’s highest level of recognition, underscoring the organization’s ongoing commitment to accountability, openness, and impact.

The Platinum Seal is the most rigorous distinction offered by Candid (formerly GuideStar), the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations.

It is awarded to nonprofits that go above and beyond basic reporting to provide the public with detailed information about their mission, programs, finances, governance, and results. Fewer than one percent of U.S.-based nonprofits achieve Platinum status in any given year.

To earn the Platinum Seal, organizations must demonstrate a strong commitment to transparency by:

• Sharing comprehensive information about their programs and outcomes
• Clearly communicating strategic goals and impact
• Providing up-to-date financial and governance details
• Engaging openly with donors, partners, and the public

“We are honored to once again receive Candid’s Platinum Seal of Transparency,” said Tarin Patrikis, deputy director of NBCA. “This recognition reflects our responsibility to the patients, families, donors, and partners who place their trust in us every day. Transparency isn’t a one-time achievement; it’s an ongoing commitment.”

NBCA’s continued Platinum status reinforces its dedication to ensuring supporters can confidently see how their contributions advance blood clot awareness, education, and prevention nationwide.
