Join us for a free, community-centered health education event focused on saving lives through awareness, early recognition, and prevention of blood clots.

Hosted at Cornerstone Baptist Church, this event brings together trusted health educators, clinicians, and community advocates to share vital information about deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE)—serious but often preventable conditions that disproportionately impact Black Americans.

Why This Matters

Blood clots affect hundreds of thousands of people each year, yet many do not recognize the warning signs until it’s too late. Early knowledge can mean the difference between life and death. This event is designed to empower individuals, families, and caregivers with practical, culturally relevant information they can use immediately.

What You’ll Learn

  • What blood clots are and why they are dangerous
  • Common signs and symptoms of DVT and PE
  • Who is at higher risk, including during pregnancy, hospitalization, long travel, or chronic illness
  • How to advocate for yourself or a loved one in healthcare settings
  • Steps you can take to reduce your risk

What to Expect

  • Engaging, easy-to-understand health education sessions
  • Opportunities to ask questions and connect with health advocates
  • Educational materials you can take home and share
  • A welcoming, faith-centered environment focused on whole-person health

Who Should Attend

  • Adults and seniors
  • Caregivers and family members
  • Expectant and postpartum mothers
  • Individuals with chronic conditions or recent hospital stays
  • Anyone who wants to protect their health and the health of their community
