What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a global generosity movement with aims to help others, make someone smile, or show up for an issue you care about. Every single act of kindness counts. This global day of giving harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy to celebrate generosity worldwide. Giving Tuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate to improve their local communities and give to the charities and causes they support.
Why Does it Matter?
Last year, the funds raised on this global day of giving provided toolkits, training, resources, and event materials for the nearly 50 volunteers enrolled in our Community Thrombassador Program – a network of patients, caregivers, and family members committed to spreading blood clot education, awareness, and prevention in their communities. This year, your support will continue to help grow life-saving programs and resources at the National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA).
