The National Blood Clot Alliance is hosting a webinar for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of Blood Disorders, on Thursday, September  17, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Eastern Time.

This talk – “Update on COVID-19 and Thrombosis Risk” – will be presented by NBCA’s Medical and Scientific Advisory Board Member Dr. David Garcia and his colleagues Dr. Kristen M. Sanfilippo and Dr. Adam Cuker.


Learning Objectives

In this webinar, Dr Garcia, Dr. Sanfilippo, and Dr. Cuker will:

  • Summarize the evidence from peer-reviewed publications of COVID-19-associated VTE.
  • Describe proposed mechanisms by which COVID-19 may increase the risk for VTE.
  • Recount the latest guidelines for preventing VTE in patients who are hospitalized for COVID-19.
