Greg Maynard, MD, MSc, SFHM, a member of NBCA’s Medical & Scientific Advisory Board, a hospitalist, and also Clinical Professor of Medicine, and Chief Quality Officer at the University of California, Davis in Sacramento, California, will discuss key issues and opportunities for reducing hospital-associated venous thromboembolism (HA-VTE).  HA-VTE, which includes deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary emboli (PE) occurring after surgery and hospitalization, is a major source of illness, death, and healthcare cost.
